Paddles Trips Tours

Strand (Gillingham) to Medway Estuary Islands

This is a trip on tidal waters and will require use of a sea/touring boat. The club has several that can be borrowed.

Arrive at 9am for 9:30am on the water. The tide will not wait for you! High water is at approximately 11:30am.

This is a good intro to tidal water, however you'll need to be able to paddle against the 2 knots of tide.

Meet at The Strand by the slipway, Pier Rd, Gillingham ME7 1TT.

We'll navigate around Hoo Ness and Darnet Ness then return to the strand.

Bring sustenance and dress for the conditions.

The trip will go ahead subject to weather conditions on the day.

Disclaimer

All our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise, they are peer paddles.

If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something! Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.

If your trip is being led by someone, a more experienced paddler, river leader, or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
